This is being written in Room 15 of the Pathfinder Motel at
Dalby. We returned to Dalby from Toowoomba this morning and
booked in here on the way to visit Harold and Norma at Tara. We
arrived there just as they were finishing lunch (around 11:30
a.m.), so we had ours (we had brought bread and devon and
tomatoes in Dalby) and then spent the afternoon chatting with
them. We returned to the motel for dinner and to spend the night
as there was no way Lorraine was going to stay there with all the
snake stories she had heard. Harold told us they had seen nine
snakes so far this season and that he had killed six of them but
that the other three had got away.
Harold and Norma are both well and seem content in their chosen
lifestyle. It is very quiet where they are and they keep pretty
much to themselves although they do go to a lot of shows showing
their chooks (with which they have had some recent
successes).
Tomorrow we hope to head back out North West through Chinchilla,
Miles, Roma and on to Charleville and Augathella before heading
back North East on the following day towards the coast again. We
should be at Patricia's in a few more days.
