Arrived Biloela late this afternoon after leaving Charleville this morning and travelling 822 kms via Augathella, back to Roma, north on the Carnarvon Developmental Road to Rolleston, then east to Biloela, which is 145 kms south of Rockhampton.
Again we passed through many small hamlets which are, for the most part, small, tranquil rural backwaters, far removed from the urban hurly-burly we are familiar with. I must say I find most of them quite appealing, with the people (at least those we have come in contact with) always ready to exchange a few words as to where we have come from, where we have been, where we are going, etc., and to suggest local attractions and beauty spots we may like to see.
I am not sure which way we will go to Rockhampton tomorrow; we can either go the direct route which is to drive 145 kms north, or we can go over to Gladstone (which is on the coast) and then drive northwards from there. The latter is about 60 kms longer but may well have the better scenery, so we might go that way - we'll see.
