Not much to report today, mainly just driving, driving, and then just for a change: more driving.

Got away from Bundaberg around 10:00 a.m. (a bit late, after having to do a couple of things), drove back up to Rockhampton then west out through Gogango, Duaringa, Dingo (no kid!), Bluff, Blackwater, Comet, Yamalla and into Emerald about 4:00 this afternoon - a total distance of 595 kilometres.

Emerald is quite a large place and is considered to be the hub of the Queensland Central Highlands. There are rich gemfields nearby and people can fossick there if they wish. From our brief drive-through, the station is a standout and has been classified by the National Trust. We will have a closer look at it tomorrow (and also at the rest of the town) before we leave for probably Longreach - 412 kms further west.
