Daniel DWYER arrived with his sister Johanna at MORETON BAY in the vessel Shackamaxon on 25 November 1859 (Master: Captain Teulon; Surgeon-superintendent: Dr Graham; Departed Liverpool: 6 August). Daniel, a labourer, was 25 years of age and Johanna, a domestic servant, was 20. They were both from BOHERLAHAN, County Tipperary, both were Roman Catholic, and they could both read. Their parents names were Daniel DWYER and Johannah (or Judith, or Julia, or Mary) BRIEN. Both Daniel and Johanna were remittance immigrants and had the cost of their passage contributed to by their sister Catherine, who was already in Australia and living in Brisbane.
