Name and birth date are from letter from Archives Office of Tasmania dated 1
October 1980 (File 81/405, SE/BN) to Rev Wayne Robins. The letter also states
the birth was registered in Launceston, and gives Henry John's profession as
"shoemaker" and his address as York Street. It also states that William Robins
(father of Henry John) was living in Brisbane Street in 1845 and in Canning
Street in 1851, and that according to the census of 1851 William and his wife
arrived in the colony as free settlers, but that there was no record of their
arrival.

Henry John's occupation was shown as "Carrier" on his daughter Sybil's birth record (Tas 456(352)/1882) and as "Auctioneer" on her NSW death record 18921/1924, although the Census of 1851 is said to show his profession as "shoemaker". However that can't be correct as he was only born in 1847. |
