Name and birth date are from letter from Archives Office of Tasmania dated 1
October 1980 (File 81/405, SE/BN) to Rev Wayne Robins. The letter also states
the birth was registered in Launceston, and gives Robert's profession as "Post
Office messenger" and his address as Canning Street. It also states that
William Robins (father of Robert) was living in Brisbane street in 1845 and in
canning street in 1851, and that according to the census of 1851 he and his
wife arrived in the colony as free settlers, but that there was no record of
their arrival.
