Birthplace from his marriage certificate to Emily Maud FELLOWES (Qld BDM 4029/1903 99065) is shown as GEELONG Vic. That certificate also shows his age as 28 when he married Emily Maud, which would make his birth year about 1875. This is probably an attempt to disguise his bigamous marriage to Emily Maud FELLOWES, no record of a divorce from his first wife Johanna nee KILDEY having been so far discovered. NSW BDM record 18613/1869 show his place of birth as TENTERFIELD NSW, (his people are all from that area) and his year of birth as 1869. There is no connection with Victoria that I have found to date.
